“It’s 15 years now since this journey began,” writes Wintherz, founding member and current guitarist/vocalist of Waldgeflüster.
With five full lengths and a split with Panopticon under their collective belt, these forest-inspired Bavarians have ascended to become one of the strongest and most consistent bands in the atmospheric European black metal subgenre. Now, according to Wintherz, “It is time to look on the past and see where we came from, where this all started.”
Today, Waldgeflüster release—as their sixth full length—a re-recording of their 2005 demo Stimmen im Wind. Presented here with real drums and bass, this is Stimmen im Wind 2020.
“We are happy to share those old songs with you, finally with a proper recording,” says Wintherz. “It has been a long ride, but if you listen closely, one can still hear those roots, that started so long ago with the first demo Stimmen im Wind, in our current work. I hope you enjoy this nostalgic look in our past, I definitely enjoyed working on those forgotten tales again.”
