Metallica Release New Range Of Watches — Kerrang!

Have you ever looked at your wrist and thought it could do with metalling up a bit? Well, your worries are over thanks to Metallica’s new range of watches.

For the second time, the thrash legends have teamed up with Nixon, and have unveiled a trio of new timekeepers – including one only available to their Fifth Member fan club.

Following on from the 2018 range, which was inspired by the album sleeves for the first four Metallica albums, the 2019 line will feature the Time Teller Classic Logo in black and white, The Sentry Leather Seek And Destroy watch in black and red, and the 51-30 limited-edition Enter Sandman collectible watch.

Unsurprisingly, the fan club only Enter Sandman watch has sold out, but the other two are still available to pre-order from the Official Metallica website.

In a press statement, Nixon (the company behind the watches) say: “Metallica are the perfect partner for us. They are independent and unique, with a focus on creativity and quality.

“We’ve been looking forward to working with them again since our first experience back in 2010 when we teamed up for a series of limited edition rocker watches using old guitar straps and leather jackets from various Metallica members to create watch bands.”

Metallica recently announced that they would be headlining five different Danny Wimmer festivals in the United States – playing two different sets at each festival!

“What a day for DWP and the fans of our festivals,” said festival promoter Danny Wimmer. “As a fan of this band, I still get goosebumps walking into Metallica’s headquarters…I spent a lot of times with the fans and I asked them, ‘What do you want to see?’ And nine out of ten times, they said Metallica.”

Here’s where you can catch Metallica in the States next year:

Epicenter – May 1-3 – Concord, North Carolina
Welcome To Rockville – May 8-10 – Daytona Beach, Florida
Sonic Temple – May 15-17 – Columbus, Ohio
Louder Than Life – Sept 18-20 – Louisville, Kentucky
Aftershock – October 9-11 – Sacramento, California

Metallica were recently forced to cancel their trip to Australia and New Zealand with Slipknot after frontman James Hetfield was entered into rehab.

Speaking to USA Today, Lars said in response to inquiries about James’ current status, “He’s doing what he needs to; he’s in the process of healing himself. I feel bad for everybody down in Australia and New Zealand, but we’re excited to get back to full force and come back stronger and healthier than ever. Along the way, there’s obviously an occasional bump in the road. But it’s been an incredible ride, and we’re looking forward to getting back down there, hopefully next year.”
