Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello has responded to some negative comments from the haters after the official announcement that the band will be a headliner at the Coachella Festival in April.
The event will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on April 10-12 and April 17-19. Also, other headliners of the huge festival are Travis Scott and Frank Ocean.
One of the haters who criticized their Coachella participate wrote that:
“Uh… excuse me… Rage. Just FYI Coachella tix start at around $500 and skyrocket from there. There will be no revolution at this festival, this is a festival for people that can afford it,
Way to play to your values! I mean I’m for you guys reuniting, but please dont try to make it out to be some sort of cause, it’s not. It’s for people to take pictures and videos of being at a ‘nostalgic’ RATM Reunion.
You picked the wrong place to reunite (except of course money-wise) If you wanted to do something special and unique i think you all should have pulled a Jack White and did random pop up stuff to get people talking. Or, at the very least a affordable show devoted to you, not a show sponsored by corporate America.”
Tom Morello pointed out that the band has already headlined the event twice in the past. He responded:
“Previously: Rage headlined Coachella 1999. Previously: Rage headlined Coachella in 2007. #YaLateOnYaHate.”
